Looking for a blood group 0 donor (0+ or 0−)

You don't need to live in the same city as Nick to help him: if you reside in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, within Canarias, the living donor transplant is coordinated with the reference hospital of your community. In Canarias, the kidney transplant program is carried out at Hospital Universitario de Canarias (Tenerife), Hospital Universitario Insular de Gran Canaria. Important: Nick's transplant can only be performed at his referral hospital, the Hospital General Universitario de Elche (Alicante). The donor's tests and arrangements can be coordinated from your area, but Nick's operation will always be in Elche.

Donating a kidney while alive is safe: you can live normally with only one kidney. All tests, the operation, and follow-up are covered by public healthcare, so it doesn't cost the donor any money.

The donation is completely altruistic and voluntary. Spanish law only allows donating without receiving anything in return, and an ethics committee and a judge ensure the donor's freedom and safety at every step.

If you live in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and want to find out more without obligation, you can leave your details and Nick or his family will contact you. You can also get support from ALCER, the association for people with kidney disease.

Even if you are not compatible, sharing this page from Santa Cruz de Tenerife already helps: the more people who see it, the closer the donor Nick needs will be.

Are you considering it from Santa Cruz de Tenerife?
